Government Polytechnic for Women Kadapa established in 1985 is one of the premier diploma institutes for Women in Rayalaseema in 7.65 acres of land on the highway of Kadapa-Tirupati located at a distance of 4kms from Kadapa railway station and APSRTC bus station. The Institute is well known for its state-of-the art infrastructure conducive to a healthy academic environment and dedicated & qualified staff focusing on the wholesome development of the students. The institute is fully funded by Government of Andhra Pradesh as per allocation of the annual budget. It is also supported by AICTE and MHRD funds.

The Institute consists of Main building, Administrative, Academic & Electrical labs with the Total Built up area of more than 8000 Sq.M. The internal road network in the campus runs to a length of 1.2 kms. The existing laboratories, workshop, library, computer labs etc. were strengthened keeping in view of latest techniques, skills, software up gradation, skill oriented training for student community. Apart from academics the institute provides students with a comprehensive environment that promotes art and culture, sports, societal contributions and self-governance.
It is a residential campus with all the basic facilities for the students to stay in the campus. Two Hostel blocks inside the campus are presently available to accommodate as many students as possible.
